Working in audiovisual production since 2009, Bande à part Films Sàrl - which brings together directors Ursula Meier, Lionel Baier, Jean-Stéphane Bron and Frédéric Mermoud - has produced many films presented in major international festivals (Cannes, Locarno, Berlin , Venice). Photographer and director David Nicolas Parel follows paramedics on their nocturnal journeys and questions, through what they are and what they see, the moods of society. Throughout this immersive journey, he seeks to understand how men save each others, repair themselves and how each one is in search of meaning in a world made more fragile than ever by a global pandemic.

After its premiere at the Canne’s Director’s Fortnight, Blaise Harrison’s film is released this Wednesday, June 5 in French theaters.

The Prix RTS: Perspectives d’un doc 2019 goes to ACTING PAIN (JOUER LE MAL), by Elena Avdija.
Produced by Bande a part Films, ACTING PAIN portrays 3 stuntwomen in a changing world, and offers a look at how relationships of power and hierarchy between genders are anchored in bodies and how they shape them in the world of cinema.
