About us


Active in audiovisual production since 2009, Bande à part Films Sàrl – which brings together filmmakers Ursula Meier, Lionel Baier, Jean-Stéphane Bron, and Frédéric Mermoud – has produced numerous films presented at the world’s leading international festivals (Cannes, Locarno, Berlin, Venice). Their feature films have received strong critical and public acclaim both in Switzerland and internationally.

The collective of directors has worked in close collaboration for many years with the executive production team composed of Agnieszka Ramu, Marion Chollet, and Jaber Debzi, with the support of Olga Moschieva-Prot and Damla Senn-Yurdakul, production assistants, and Dominique Gay, head of administration and accounting at Bande à part Films.

Based in Lausanne, the company is also active in film distribution under the label Bande à part Distribution. We invite you to explore our full slate of productions as well as our distribution catalogue.

Bande à part Films at the Solothurn Film Festival 2026!

Bande à Part Films is proud to announce the selection of three feature films at the Solothurn Film Festival.

Le Chantier by Jean-Stéphane Bron, The Safe House by Lionel Baier, and Little by Little by Matias Carlier will be presented in the Panorama of Feature Films section.

This triple presence at the Solothurn Film Festival, a key event in Swiss cinema, highlights the richness and diversity of the perspectives offered by these filmmakers. We look forward to sharing these films with audiences and industry professionals at this year’s edition

Lionel Baier Film Retrospective at the Cinémathèque Québécoise!

Eight films by Lionel Baier are being showcased alongside The Safe House at Cinémania.

Thanks to the teams at the Cinémathèque québécoise, Swiss Films, and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Montreal for this great honor for Bande à Part Films!

LA LIGNE ON RTS!

LA LIGNE by Ursula Meier airs tonight, March 17, 2025, on RTS1 at 8:45 pm!

A great opportunity to discover—or rediscover—this film, which was presented in International Competition at the 2022 Berlinale.

THE SAFE HOUSE IS NOW IN SWISS AND FRENCH CINEMAS!

The Safe House by Lionel Baier will be released in French cinemas on March 19, 2025, and in Swiss cinemas on March 26, 2025!

Two Swiss preview screenings will take place in the presence of the director:

  • March 13, 2025 at Cinéma Les Scala at 8:00 pm

  • March 25, 2025 at Capitole, Lausanne at 8:30 pm (with the film team!)

Dog on Trial nominated for the Swiss Film Award!

Bande à part Films is proud to announce that Laetitia Dosch’s Dog on Trial has been nominated for the Swiss Film Award in the categories of Best Fiction Film, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, and Best Sound!

The Swiss Film Award ceremony will take place on March 21, 2025, in Geneva.

Bande à part Films is thrilled to announce that Lionel Baier’s film The Safe House has been selected for the International Competition at the Berlinale!

Congratulations to Lionel and to the Swiss, Luxembourgish, and French creative and technical teams!

The Line hits U.S. theaters tomorrow!

The Line will have its U.S. premiere at Metrograph on March 31, marking its U.S. release. On this occasion, Metrograph is also hosting a retrospective dedicated to Ursula Meier, titled Permeable Boundaries: The Films of Ursula Meier.

Photographer and director David Nicolas Parel follows paramedics on their nocturnal journeys and questions, through what they are and what they see, the moods of society. “CRIMINAL”, the new police series, which Frédéric Mermoud directed the French part, will be released this Friday, September 20th on Netflix. 4 countries (France, England, Spain, Germany) and 12 suspects, including the magnificent Sara Giraudeau, Nathalie Baye and Jérémie Renier.

“Particles” Swiss Premiere at the NIFFF

Movie by Blaise Harrison will premiere at the Neuchatêl International Fantastic Film Festival on July 8th !

Particles – France release

After its premiere at the Canne’s Director’s Fortnight, Blaise Harrison’s film is released this Wednesday, June 5 in French theaters.

The release in French-speaking Switzerland is scheduled for September 4th.
